A week of FIRSTS

There is a first time for everything. And this week we have experienced a lot

(15 lb 8 oz, 25 1/2 in)

1. At Tate's 4 month appointment the doctor told us he can start eating food! So we tied him on Rice Cereal for the first time. I don't think he's been able to eat a whole lot of it, or even any of it

2. I put Tate in a shopping cart for the first time with out his car seat.

3. Mike took me Snowboarding for the first time. He got me a snowboard the first Christmas we were married and I finally got to use it. However, I'm not sure it's going to be used anymore... I was on my butt pretty much the entire day. On the hard hills I literally sat on my butt with the board in front of me and just slid down the hill.

4. Mike and I got deathly ill on Cafe Rio for the first time. We had it Saturday night and left it in the car for a couple hours while we went to IKEA and I guess that's a bad idea. We ate it after Church on Sunday and by 2:00 am the next morning Mike was up puking his guts out. He didn't stop throwing up until 6 am... and that's when it finally hit me. But luckily I only threw up once. It reminded me so much of being pregnant and I'm sort of glad Mike got a chance to experience that.

5. I passed out for the first time! From being so sick and not eating anything I actually fainted in the shower...So scary!

6. I hit a car for the first time while waiting in line in a drive thru. Not bad, but I just took my foot off the break while reaching around to find Tate's Binky and felt a big thud. I felt like an IDIOT

And that's our week in a nutshell!

I Have Survived!

Up until 3 years ago, I had loved going to the dentist. I loved that clean teeth feeling, and I thought I had the perfect teeth, at least that's always what they say to you. When I was little they had 3 big bulletin boards with every kids picture on it, and if you had a "cavity free" visit than you got to put a round sticker on your picture. I had been cavity free up until 20 years old. When I went 3 years ago they found 4 cavities. That's right, I said FOUR. And it was the worst experience of my life. I was 20 years old and crying- no, I'm sorry, I was sobbing- in that dentist chair. I was squeezing that nurse's hand so hard the whole time. I asked for the numbing shot I think 4 extra times...And for a week after, my mouth was still numb.

I have refused to go back since, but since our dental insurance ends in February, I was willing to try it one more time- For the sake of money. And this time a different dentist. 3 cavities this time. Pretty good I thought... I'll admit that when I was pregnant I had a pretty hard time brushing my teeth in the beginning. Every time I stuck that toothbrush in my mouth I'd gag and sometimes throw up.

I confessed my "problem" with the dentist and he told me I can have the Nitrous oxide...Since he didn't want to make me cry. When I was pretty floaty, he stuck the needle in to get me numb, and I could feel the tears coming on. The nurse stuck out her hand to let me hold on for dear life. When he started I was flexing in pain, even though i was fine. The dentist stopped and asked if I could feel it. I said, "No, I'll just scream if it hurts", he immediately said, "Just raise your hand if it hurts...If you scream, you'll scare the other patients."ha ha

The whole time I heard that Laser sound I just kept telling myself "Think of Star Wars. Think of Star Wars". Just so I could think of the sounds coming from a movie, not my mouth. And when I felt the thing in my mouth drilling, I just kept telling myself it's just a stick with sponge on it cleaning my teeth.

Well, I'm proud to say I survived, and with no tears this time.

Valentines Day

We had a great Valentines Day! We got to go out on a date without Tate. My awesome sister in-law Emily called a couple weeks ago and volunteered to watch him for us that night (nice huh) But that weekend my brother Justin got sick, so we felt bad leaving Tate with them... So luckily my parents volunteered, since they celebrated their Valentines Day the night before.

Our "I'm too interested to look at the camera" movie pose

We got to do a Movie, He's just not that into you, which was just so so. I thought it was going to be a lot more funny than it was. Then we went to a Restaurant called Yapoma. It's a Japanese Sushi place. Mike LOVES sushi. So I found this web site called http://www.restaurant.com/ that you can get gift cards for local restaurants for REAL CHEAP! We bought a $25 gift card for $10.

Friday, the night before I made Mike a heart pizza, with a berry smoothie. I was so proud of myself. What a great wife I am.

Miracle Solution

My sister in-law Jeannie swears by this stuff. It will cure anything from sore throats to food poisoning to diaper rashes. I recently became a big fan. I'm not usually into the whole Natural Medicine thing, but I have been converted.
Tate has had this really bad diaper rash lately and I was going to take him in to get it looked at because it was so bad. I kept putting desitin on him every time, but it didn't seem to help. On Monday I dropped him off with Jeannie while I went to work for 4 hours. She put this stuff on his rash, and by the time I picked him up it was almost completely gone. I kept using it that day, and the rash totally disappeared that night!
You can find it at any Health Food Store. It think it's around $20 for a 16 oz bottle.

Today we went to see my friend Teri and her new little boy Carter. He's 3 weeks old and 10lb 2oz, Tate is over 3 months and they look almost the same size! Can you imagine giving birth to a baby that size---AMMMAAASING! You Rock Teri.

Sitting Up- Sort of

My little boy is getting huge! It's so fun to see his personality come out. After reading Corbin and Alison's Blog, showing their little girl, Raquel, sitting in her boppy(just 10 days older than Tate)... I had to try this. He is so strong- but he was still tipping over a bit. You one-upped us this time Raquel!

Almost every moring Tate wakes up with little scatches all over his face. We try to clip his nails but they grow so fast. I'm affraid when I take him out of the house people think he's abused!

Happy Boy and Binki Clips for Sale!

Lately Tate has been Smiling, Laughing and Talking a ton! But everytime I get the camera out he'll stop. Here are a couple I got before he gave up.

Usually Tates day begins by waking up at 5 or 6 because he's hungry, so i'll feed him and we'll both go back to sleep. Then he'll wake up again around 8:30 or 9 we'll play for a little while and he'll zonk out again for about an hour or 2 more and wake up officially around 10:30 or 11. During that time I know I should get ready for the day, but usually i'll just fall back to sleep with him. When he wakes up again We both get ready and head out to do some errands. around 3:00- 5:30 or 6 he'll take another nap (don't I have it easy!) then we eat dinner and wait for Mike to get home. And then its bed time at 9:00. I'm really getting the hang of being a Mom and I love it. I have to start back to work soon, but luckily only one day a week. I have been racking my brain to think of other ways to make some money... if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Oh and here are a couple pictures of some Binki Clips i'm making. If anyone wants any... they are only $5 or 2 for $9 (i'll send them free of charge) just email me mckitter@yahoo.com.

sorry some of these clips aren't all the way done, but you get the jist!

Congrats Teri and Regan on their new little Boy!

Mike Post -Sappy- beware

It's happening! Mike is going back to school ... It's something he has wanted to do for a long time, but didn't really know what he wanted to finish off in. He started working with a new company last July as an Electrical Field Technician, and has absolutely loved it. (To be honest I have no idea what he actually does all day. He tries to explain it to me, and others, but I don't get a word he says.) He finally found his niche, and is really good at it. It will definitely be a long couple of years, but i know it's well worth it. He's going to finish off at SLCC, and by next year transfer up to Weber State University to their Electronics Program.

I am so proud of him and feel so blessed that he is happy doing what he loves.

Here are some of the reasons why I love and married this Man:

1. He is the Kindest person I know. Everywhere we go, if he sees that someone needs help, he is the first to lend a hand. One night, a couple months after we got married it was late at night and Mike got home from work...I begged Him to go the the grocery store with me. It was snowing really hard outside and on our way there we noticed two cars off the side of the road. To me it looked like the first car had gotten stuck, and the 2nd car was trying to help. So i thought we should just keep driving. Mike just wanted to make sure... so he pulled over and got out. It turns out both cars were stuck. They tried to push the cars out for a couple minutes with no luck...so Mike came back to the car and said, "We need to go buy a Tow strap to get these people out."So we did...Now if it was me, after helping push I would have just said "well sorry I couldn't help more" and left...

2. He makes me a better person

3. He's always willing to rub my feet

4. Playing Games is only fun with him. We get on game streaks sometimes where we will play Settlers or Sequence about 5 or 6 times in one night. We get so competitive sometimes we need to take a 5 min break and kiss and make up. ( I think it's because I win all the time)

5. He's a hottie

6. He is the best Dad

7. He makes me feel good about myself. He's not shy when it comes to complementing me

8.He's always good for a laugh! I have many examples, but just one is when we were driving to Idaho one night and the car was overheating so He pulled over to get out to look under the hood. When he got back in the car to start it up, The key was stuck, We couldn't turn it at all. It wouldn't come out, or it wouldn't turn to start up the car. He was getting so mad. So we called his step dad, who was a 1/2 hr away to come get us. about 20 minutes later, i looked down and noticed-- The car was in Drive. It was never put in park when he turned it off. So we put it in park, and were able to start the car up no problem.

9.He lets me have my free time. When he gets home from work and I've been with Tate all day, he'll take Tate for a couple hours while I go to the gym, or sew or get whatever I need to done.
10. And last, I love him because I love him!

Blessing, New Year and Chirstmas

Tate was blessed on Sunday December 28th, and since I, the dummy, forgot to take pictures of this glorious event, I'm stealing this picture from Emily's Blog. Thanks Emily! She is the Family Historian. Everywhere we go she is taking a million pictures. I looked everywhere for a blessing outfit, but they were all about $50 and he only wears it once, So i found this one at Babies R Us for only $13, on sale! Woo Hoo

As for New years: We went to Justin and Emily's and played Games and ate too much food. Emily is so creative look at this awesome pinata she made for the kids (i guess this post is all about you Emily!)

Christmas Eve Santa (uncle Stewart) came to visit the Grand kids.

My nephew Brody sat on his lap and just started screaming. This pictures says a thousand words...

On Christmas morning we always go to my Grandma's for brunch. That night we were going to get together for Christmas dinner with mike's family, but his mom and step dad got snowed in up in Idaho. So instead Mike and I went to see Yes Man. We took Tate too but I don't think he enjoyed it because he just slept through it.

This was Tate the whole day, he didn't want to wake up until about 8:00 at night. Then when he woke up he just cried and cried for an hour straight.

I Promise, i didn't plan the whole matchy matchy thing! I got Mike a sweater for Christmas, but My mom got Tate this other Cute Sweater. I'm not that mean of a wife to make my husband and Child walk around like mini mees
